Each year, over 1,000 university students volunteer as mentors to help mentees with completing homework, reinforcing reading and math skills, and participating in enrichment and recreational activities.  Al’s Pals mentors commit one afternoon weekly from 2:30 p.m. – 5 p.m. for 10 weeks during the semester to serve elementary students in 1st through 5th grades at local school sites. It’s a great way to get involved and meet fellow students while making a difference in children’s lives.

Al’s Pals 2021-2022- Note from Al’s Pals Coordinator

Welcome Back to Campus!

Our community partners and schools are ready for the you to return to in person mentoring this fall starting September 13th!

I invite you to help us serve the youth in Tuscaloosa through the Al’s Pals program. Our community partners and schools we serve are excited to have us return to their locations and work with their students. Your Al’s Pals leadership team have  updated  training  for the in person mentoring program to equip you with the tools you need to maximize your time as we return to in person mentoring. As an educator, I am going to challenge you to really take time to invest in the lessons, resources, and activities that are planned for you and your student.
Thank you and look forward to a great year,
